Umbilical Cord Powder, 1/4 oz packet

Umbilical Cord Powder, 1/4 oz packet

(Item #PCUC.25)
Combinations such as this one have traditionally been used to help prevent irritated or infected umbilical cords and to promote quick healing of the cord. It has also traditionally been used as a disinfectant for all parts of the body, e.g., the powder is put in a little, sewn flannel packet and placed in the mouth for infection in that area. For care of the umbilical area, sprinkle the powder around the umbilical cord daily or when redness appears. Since the herbs tend to stain clothing, you may want to cover the area after application. Expose the cord to air during the warmest part of the day to encourage drying. Do not use alcohol around the cord, as it tends to prevent drying. If you feel that you must clean out the cord area, use hydrogen peroxide or water. Note: Each packet has been sealed, so you must cut the top in order to use the zip-lock opening.

Activated Charcoal, 1 oz

(Item #PSAC1)
This activated charcoal is made by super-heating wood, causing the pieces to explode, creating a tremendous increase in surface area. This substance is then granulated into finer particles, which further increases its surface area and, consequently, its adsorption capabilities. This botanical form of carbon is non-carcinogenic, is safe for human consumption, and qualifes as vegan.

Recommended Use: Charcoal has universally been recognized for centuries as one of the finest adsorptive agents and as an antidote for poisoning of various kinds. More recently, this pharmaceutical grade of activated charcoal has become very popular in supporting the body's cleansing and detoxification mechanisms by removing toxins and other inorganic and non-digestible elements from the digestive tract and bloodstream. Thus, the use of charcoal is suggested during any body cleansing program. It is also used extensively to help the body address severe indigestion, diarrhea, food poisoning, flatulence, and bloating, as well as topically as a poultice to adsorb the poison from bee stings or snake bites. For specific usage recommendations, refer to the product label, information in the Midwives Connection Fall 2005 catalog, or to special flyers that will be shipped along with the product.
